Modular Website Template
A scalable website template system built to make website launches faster, more flexible, and easier to adapt for different clients. I focused on creating a modular structure and a brand layer color system that allows entire sites to be re-skinned while staying consistent and accessible.

Challenge
Our agency primarily builds custom websites for high-budget clients, but we wanted a way to serve smaller organizations without sacrificing quality or strategy. The challenge was creating a flexible website template that could adapt to different industries, personalities, and content needs—while still being fast to launch and easy to maintain.
Solution
I designed a scalable template system built around a shared structure with flexible components. From there, I created three distinct “child themes” that could shift the visual identity while staying grounded in the same core framework.
A key part of the system was a brand layer–based color structure I developed in Figma. Every component in the template was already mapped to these layers, so updating a site for a new client only required reassigning layer values. Once updated, the entire website would automatically adapt while still meeting accessibility standards.
I worked closely with my manager during design reviews and collaborated with both an internal developer and an outsourced development team to bring the system to life.
Outcome
The template system created a more accessible offering for clients who typically wouldn’t be able to invest in a fully custom website, expanding the agency’s reach beyond larger $3M+ organizations.
It also significantly improved efficiency—reducing website launch timelines from around 90 days to approximately 60 days, while maintaining a lead-focused, performance-driven structure.
Most importantly, it introduced a repeatable foundation for future builds without losing design quality.
Personally, I’m most proud of the brand layer color system—it created a simple but powerful way to re-skin an entire site while keeping everything consistent and accessible.
